One Huge Advantage to Using Urethane Belts for Metal Stamping Conveyors

Metal stamping applications offer a wide range of difficult challenges in selecting the proper conveyor belt. Belts are often coated in cutting oil, gauged and cut with sharp corners, and are heavily worn on the top surface. These challenges are ideal for urethane conveyor belts.

There are a few simple key considerations to consider when selecting the best belt for your stamping application:

  1. What is the smallest pulley diameter?
  2. Does the belt back-bend?
  3. Would you like a smooth cover or do you need a slight texture to maintain orientation of your parts?

One huge advantage for urethane belts is that they are simple to fabricate.  


Adding v-guides, capped edges, and even cleats can be easily done due to the thermoplastic nature of most of these materials. Urethane belts have heavy-duty carcasses which provide low stretch, extra thickness for durability, and are highly resistant to most oils and chemicals found throughout today’s modern stamping plants.
